Man, ice just applies to a bunch of stuff doesn't it. This episode recap seems even more down than last time

Sachika and Rakia dressed in washed out colors today. Wonder if that's supposed to mean anything. Sachika sure is lucky to find a boy that brings out the big brother feeligns in Rakia

Come on Shouma is still sick? That said, it is pretty nice to see Shouma fight around his limitations

Bitter Gavv sure is making good use of his weapon summon. Even though it's technically a different dude each time. Imagine if Bitter Gavv just appears with some new pizza power-up. Would Hanto still not figure it out?

I think it's about time for Hanto and Shouma to make up and for Bitter Gavv to die for good. But otherwise an alright episode. The kabuto design is fantastic

If this were real, it'd be honestly pretty creepy. A one-on-one meet and greet where you go into a weirdly empty room and have a Skype call with a cartoon while he watches you eat cake.

Also, how did the Granuto get hold of the guy's channel? Did he run a phishing scam to get his password or something?

It's actually pretty vague. I assume he just created a new channel using the same character. "A Kabutoman? I'm a kabutoman!" Based on the kid's statement about not even being able to afford pudding, it sort of seems unlikely that his original channel was all that popular

I kind of like this portrayal of the Granutos as super strong people because they eat rocks. I just wish Rakia was eating it with his second stomach since that'd make more sense for why they have giant stomaches (Have we seen any Granuto eat with their second stomachs besides SHouma for Rider reasons?)

Week after week I gush about this show, and that isn't changing anytime soon.

This week, however, I'd like to talk about the overall production.

Gavv has done something beautiful when it comes to its use of current trends like social media and vtubers not only as a plot point, but also as a warning. We saw in the earlier episodes about the dangers of meeting someone who used a fake profile and how it led to a kidnapping, and today, we got a similar incident with a Granuto stealing a vtuber to prey on unsuspecting fans.

Then we have the continuous use of social media to report the Bitter Gavv sightings, Best Woman Sachika turning the public perception against Shouma back to his favor, as well as giving Hantou a legitimate reason for show up where Bitter Gavv and other Granutos are without having to rely on Shouma and Sachika, which i understand, seeing as he's still dealing with the fact that Shouma is indirectly responsible for the death of his mother and he's gotten a power up that allows him to fight on his own, despite said power up causing similar pains to Lakia when he uses the invisible jelly (coincidence? I think NOT!)

Finally, we have the use of the environment in the fight choreography. I have been watching Kamen Rider ever since Decade, and with all my years of watching, I have never seen a show work it's environment and locations into ever fight as well as Gavv does it. Usually, the location are wide open spaces to allow the combat to play out without any risk of injuring any civilians and therefore, you don't need to pay any heed to where the fight is going down. That's not the case here. Now, you never know what prop will be used to impede or aid the combatants, like how Valen used the pipes to seal off Bitter Gavv's escape or how he shot his transformation goop on the alley wall then punched it to create his transformation sequence.

It's the little things like this, combined with the stellar acting and writing, that have made Gavv a continuous five star toku for me week after week, and keeps me coming back like an addict.

With how many dark Shoumas there are running around, you'd think that would just make actual Shouma's trouble even worse. Much less, why aren't people figuring out this guy's a Rider based on his clones also being Riders. Sachika must be doing a hell of a job wiping data from the net and managing his public relations

Maybe the writers couldn't come up with a reason that'd work in the show and instead we got Bitter Gavv in suit for this episode. As for the people questioning if Shouma is a rider too, there's no public evidence of that. As far as I remember, Shouma has no social media presence, hence Sachika planting the idea that he's just someone that looks like Shouma.

I'd believe that more if people weren't already posting "Hey, isn't he that kid that's always hanging out with the neighborhood's biggest busybody?" Shouma doesn't have a social media presence, but people still see him in real life when he accompanies Sachika on her jobs

They really made it look like the Senbei Gochizo was going to jump into the Belt on its own.

Ice cream form is interesting. It looks super cool, the fighting style with ice everywhere is awesome looking, it's attacks are powerful, and it has a time limit to work with.

And we what his favourite food was: Rocks.

Shoji-kun turned into a stone five years ago, and this year he's eating rocks... he's a busy guy with all things stone-related. In the shoot, we used sugar candy that resembled stones, and the crunching sound of him biting into them was very satisfying!

Koji, the client for Rakia's first job on his own, was played by Yokoyama Ayumu. The slightly gruff Koji and the low-spirited Rakia make an odd couple. But maybe Koji, who has a weakness for sweets, is a bit like his younger brother... For the second week in a row, Rakia has rushed in with super heroic timing! Aren't you enjoying it?! We certainly are!!


The Granuto was based on a rhinoceros beetle with hard armor, but he was very flexable in thinking of using a virtual form even though he had lost his Mimic Key and was unable to take on a human form. Kabutoman had a handsome voice that could charm viewers, so we asked Ono Yuki-san to voice him!
He has a great balance of sexiness and scariness. The behind-the-scenes story of the creation of the beautiful Kabuto Danshi avatars will be in the next episode!


Valen
The one to take on the escaped Bitter Gavv was... Valen! How cool was it to transform by punching the wall?!

The battle scenes in small spaces are the epitome of Action Director Fujita. Items that are likely to be found were littered in the area, such as one-gallon cans, oil drums and lumber. Using these in attacks made for exciting actions and made the experience even more realistic. The physical abilities of the actors, who made use of horizontal bars and wires to strike one pose after another, are truly amazing!


It seemed like Valen was using his gun more aggressively than usual. He didn't seem overwhelmed, and he exuded a sense of strength as he control the flow of the battle. But...

See, it definitely had a negative effect after all...!!! Hunty's getting pain the the chest... WORRIED!
Oh, stop it, you throws a drum at me every time I say something stupid...!

庄司くん、5年前は石になり、今年は石を食べ…石がらみで忙しい人です。撮影では石を模した砂糖菓子を使っているのですが、カリっとかじる音が非常に小気味よく響いておりました。

そんなラキアが初めてひとりで担当するお仕事の依頼主・浩二は、横山歩くんが演じています。

狭い空間でのバトルシーンは藤田アクション監督の真骨頂。

一斗缶やドラム缶、材木など、その場所にありそうなものを攻撃に使っていくシーンの連続が臨場感マシマシでわくわくします。
鉄棒技やワイヤーを駆使してのポーズを次々に決めていくアクター陣の身体能力も本当に素晴らしいです…！

普段のヴァレンより積極的に銃を使っているような気もしますね。
いっぱいいっぱいではないといいますか、自分のペースでバトルを引っ張っている強者感がにじみ出ています。

another very good episode.
The Ice cream form fight was much better without the ice tower this week. It's interesting that they gave it a melting time limit lol.
I know I wanted Bitter to stick around but this is 5 solid episodes of fighting him now, lets move things along with Suga before we hit episode 30.

The alley battle with Hanto and Bitter was brilliant, I liked Bitter using the pole to swing around on.
Cmon Hanto I thought you were smart, you have a new transformation device that gives you a sore chest after every fight, this isn't hard to figure out what's wrong.
