Konpeito is taken from the Portuguese confeito, so no, it's not a brand name. However, the traditional food is hina-arare, a kind of colorful rice cracker. Konpeito is a sweeter stand-in.takenoko wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 9:34 pm

Just looking at it again, it sure does look like konpeito. Did they make this art asset for one of the past Rider animes and are reusing it as arere here, because that's sure how it looks to me

No, he is eating konpeito. Arare is the traditional food but konpeito is sometimes used instead because it's sweet, but you can call it arare in the context of Hina Matsuri.
