Game Centre CX translators

Post by Nobunaga »

I am a big fan of the Game Centre CX series and do appreciate the time you guys have spent in translating and editing the series.

Hope that you don’t mind me telling you this, but a lot of the translation is incorrect. It could be to do with Ario’s western Japanese dialect and hard for people who are used to hearing the Eastern Japanese dialect.

Just as an idea, a lot of fan sub sites have the RAW episodes up for download and people who can speak Japanese can help edit and perfect the subtitles instead of one person doing them all.

I think it would be quicker and less hard work for the existing team.

Anyway I do hope this isn’t taken the wrong way. I am very grateful to you guys for making the series available to the masses.

Thank you

I wouldn't mind letting someone else translate who knows more Japanese than me. If you're interested or know someone, just e-mail me takkynoko@yahoo.com

Edit: Also, if translation is too much, there's QC positions available

Takenoko: I meant to put in my email to you that I speak Kansai-ben, specifically Osaka, rather than standard Japanese, the same as Arino.

Didn't notice this post before, but I wouldn't mind being a QC.

Ok, well, I'm going to work on an episode or two, and see how it goes. It won't be as nice as yours, but do you have any advice?
I'm using submagic right now, and it works ok, but I'm wiling to give other programs a chance.

aegisub is what the majority of subbers use, old school people use substation alpha

I will when I'm done! Don't wait up for it though, I'm just doing it in my free time.

Oh dear god that took a long time!
Anyway, I've been working on subbing the Rockman 3 episode (#82), and I have my first version complete!

I've been using MagicSub this time,
just so I could do it simply and see how much time it actually takes,
but I think I'll just delegate that task if possible.

Anyway, it's an .srt file, so nothing fancy, just subs.
Take a look and gimme some feedback.

I'll do the second half sometime soon (probably not this week, but next maybe), and hopefully I can find a copy of one of the recent OoT episodes.

I put the video up on megaupload, so hopefully that should be ok.

No raws -take

I dunno, I think it'd be better to translate the show in order. I know that there's no plot to the series per say, but stuff like the ADs do change and they do refer to stuff that's happened in the past
