Or maybe it takes place back during the Edo Period or something.
I'm afraid that It's because Chiaki, Mako, and Genta revert to kids due to timeline changes... :P

Hm. I love Shinkenger, and really don't want it to turn into another Den-O.
That being said, I'd be interested in seeing how they work this out.
And good for Shoko-tan. No pink for her though.... who will be pink then?

There isn't gonna be a Pink.
Gold is taking Pink's place on the main team, and Shinken Jidai is taking Gold's spot as sixth senshi.

Ah. Sorry. I saw a pink in the picture and was surprised that there was no mention of a pink. I guess picture and words not related. ... well in which case, why not? >.>

edit: read this on a couple more boards, seems like this may not be real?

One can argue that Mako is in Hawaii visiting family and Genta is trying to sell his sushi to a broader audience. I have no idea what to make of Chiaki not being there. [if any of this real that is]

As much as I loved Shinkenger, I don't think replacing the original actors with new ones is gonna be good at all. How could they make ShinkenGold a female too? That is hella wrong. I also feel like replacing the original actors is like replacing adult actors and make a storyline where they become a kid again. Wait, Chou Den-O did that already. Never mind. I just hope it wont become corny.

While I'm happy that three of the cast is back, I can't help but think that this'll be like showing up at a party and seeing someone dressed in your dead friend's clothes.

Rumor or not, I loved Shinkenger... I guess the new actors could grow on me.

I'm confused about the reasoning behind having Gold return but no Pink. Genta isn't a samurai and everything he knows is self-taught. I don't see how anyone could be his successor. It makes more sense to have one of Mako's relatives become the Pink successor.

If there is a Gold on the roster, then it can't take place before the timeline of the show because Genta came up with the idea for a ShinkenGold.

Stuff like this is what is making me doubt that this rumor is going to bear fruit. I really hope that I'm right and that this rumor is just someone's pipe dream and imagination run haywire.

This "promo" piece looks like something anyone who is decently versed in Photoshop can put together. I have trouble believing that there's no Shinken Pink, partially because she's in the "promo" photo but not mentioned, but also because if the Ikenami, Shiraishi, Tani, and Hanaori families had served the Shiba clan for generations, then to not have a Shinken Pink for this project makes no sense to me. I had actually never heard of Shokotan before this, but I would think that if she had wanted to be a Pink ever since a while back, why they wouldn't cast her as "Shinken Pink" (sorry, but unless Mako totally bites the dust, she will be the only Shinken Pink I recognize, and Rin Takanashi is the only actress I will acknowledge in the role) for this project is beyond me.

By the same token, I can't accept the idea of Eiji Wentz as the "new" "Shinken Green." The only Shinken Green in my book will always be Chiaki Tani, played by Shogo Suzuki. Ditto for Keisuke Sohma as Genta Umemori/Shinken Gold.

I really do NOT want Toei to make a liar out of me...

I would like to see more definite proof but what would mean for the VS if this series is true? Would the VS have these new people or will it have the original cast for the Shinkengers? So I'm basically erring on the side of caution with this.

Unless I just don't remember, I don't think there's been a VS movie in which someone from the the original cast from the previous season didn't return, and I can't see a VS movie being made with new actors taking over roles that were previously different characters.

*continuing to cross her fingers and hope that this alleged mini-series is just someone's idea of a bad joke*

Yeah, I was thinking that earlier. It seems kind of weird that they'd have all the actors return for the versus but they wouldn't be available for a mini series. I mean, all that stuff would probably have to be filmed at the same time, like around now or in the next few months. The casting change is just a really odd detail no matter how you look at it

Although I am thinking this out in US entertainment terms, the series and pre-planned related movies including the VS are likely in their initial contract for the role. As in, if they don't agree to all those, they don't get the role. Whereas the after-thought specials they aren't contracted for, so they can opt-out if they so choose.

True. I was just thinking about this in what people would rather do. Continue on with a job that they had for over a year, or try finding a new job. Maybe the others had something lined up, but it seems like if they were going to film this, it'd happen right after the Versus filming.
