Gokaiger 24 released

Post by takenoko »

What the...?

Edit: Okay, I thought of one interesting thing I can say about the episode. I liked their new mouth technology for the figures. It's weird to see Jealoushitto eat, but it's better than seeing them throw the food at their face and have it drop on the ground.

Anyway, I guess it was frenetic enough that I wasn't bored while watching it. I can't really say I thought it was funny, since you can only have so much randomness before it stops being amusing.

So in to out: The Zangyack Empire Banzai, Bright and fun world domination, The unrivaled Zangyack, The strongest in the universe

And of course the penis monster of the week's name is Sen-den. Which straight up is:
Senden 宣伝 【せんでん】 (n,vs) propaganda, publicity, (P)

So tempting to name it Pirates versus ninjas. But alas, they don't use the word for versus.

I laughed.....

.....on the inside.

But seriously, this episode wasn't that good. And saying "Propaganda" numerous times isn't gonna make me laugh either. >>

One of the more face-palm-while-laughing and eyebrow-twitching inducing episodes. And I say that in the most nicest way possible.

I just like how most of the Gokaigers except for Gai were going with the flow in the episode. I think there will be another Jealoushitto episode with Insaan trying to kill his wife because she can't stand him being all happy.

I actually thought this was going to be the Megaranger tribute episode since Sen-den looks so much like a Nejire but nope.

This episode confirms many theories that the current Zangyack platoon headed by "Emperor's stupid son" is a push-over. Throw away Gil, Insaan, and Barizorg, and yet you can still have an episode of Gokaiger.

Now I missed Buredoran, Doukoku, Juuzou, Mele, and Abrera.

*Gokaigers is badass in this episode, not even flinching when they are ambushed in the house.

A masterful follow up to the Carranger episode.
During the preview for this episode I thought "Oh, they're bringing him back. That's good for a few cheap laughs at least.", but they went places I had not imagined possible.

A thing I really liked about this episode that doesn't have to do with the crazy is that they acknowledged that the Gokaigers are aliens.
Sometimes it is easy to forget that when dealing with human-shaped ones.

Well, that was fun. Weird, but fun. I kinda wanna see how Saban might attempt to adapt this for American audiences if they get that far. I'm thinking this could be another "Lost and Found in Translation" type of episode.

Space alien takoyaki being sold to the martians from Metal Slug? Fine. The enemy trying to spread evil empire propaganda (and badly)? Fine. Though the best of this episode, for be, was was the Gokaigers first realized 'ah, it's gonna be one of these episodes.'

Yeah, that had to be the most blase Henshin ever. They looked as though they were going to refuse to participate for a moment when the takoyaki seller was attacked, then they sort of sigh and transform.

The ending though.... ewwwwww...... so disturbing.

Amusing, but in that sort of Lady-Gaga-WTF kind of way.

In some ways, I think this is a tribute to all the filler episodes in past series. The "pet" scene feels like a twist on the "ranger raises alien baby" filler. The episode also touches upon the perennial theme of not all monsters are bad guys.

I think the writers also wanted to remind the older viewers that this is still a kids show by sneaking in those lessons about brushing your teeth and washing your hands after using the toilet.

I liked how the mom was really into the fight scenes, pantomiming punches.

Haha, And they still haven't given a f*** to this day, not even in the first episode's ambush

 I approve this message.
Not a single f*** was given since that day. Though I said it twice when the elopement scene aired.

Spoiler
Hmm, the most aging up Sentai actually? I never seen so much difference for a Sentai alumni before.
