From the second pic:
"Klotho the figher's costume was changed to a more nimble pretty design to reflect Miyahara Kanon's action scenes. There was a request for the stomach to be exposed, so harem pants were swapped in to control how much was exposed, as well as giving it an exotic film. The arm guards were out of respect of Amazons which I love"

Re: Klotho's costume design
Neat find!
That seems very on-brand for Toei. They're paying for those abs, and they want them on screen, dammit.
It turned out well, though. So I certainly can't complain. Shame it doesn't explain the eye symbol.

Yeah, looking at the left, surprisingly it's a more conservative outfit. I'm guessing the eye is Toei confusing the Moirai with the Graeae, the three women from Perseus's story that share an eye and tooth

to be fair to Toei, that's a mistake dating back to at LEAST Disney's Hercules, where they made the fates share an eye the same way.takenoko wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 7:50 am I'm guessing the eye is Toei confusing the Moirai with the Graeae, the three women from Perseus's story that share an eye and tooth

Eh... I'm not sure I'd call either the original or final versions conservative. There's nothing particularly revealing, but the description is accurate: they traded thighs for abs. Though both certainly cover more than the interim version.takenoko wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 7:50 am Yeah, looking at the left, surprisingly it's a more conservative outfit.
That would make sense. Toei definitely loves to adopt western motifs, but whether it's intentional or not, they always end up being pretty off-target in the end.I'm guessing the eye is Toei confusing the Moirai with the Graeae, the three women from Perseus's story that share an eye and tooth

They don't even call that guy Herakles. Greek words should have a k in itConnie_Edogawa wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 8:44 amto be fair to Toei, that's a mistake dating back to at LEAST Disney's Hercules, where they made the fates share an eye the same way.takenoko wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 7:50 am I'm guessing the eye is Toei confusing the Moirai with the Graeae, the three women from Perseus's story that share an eye and tooth

Upon further examination, I rescind this comment.ViRGE wrote: Sun Nov 26, 2023 11:15 amEh... I'm not sure I'd call either the original or final versions conservative. Just catching up on episodes 12 and 13, where we get to see Klotho fight out in the daylight, her final outfit does not match the third version shown in the Instagram post. There are no leggings to speak of; she's just wearing hotpants with harem pants over it, and then the loincloth-like piece on top of that.
Coupled with the crop top, it's hardly modest (let alone conservative). They didn't trade thighs for abs, they went for thighs and abs.

Re: Klotho's costume design
They put a gauzy filter on top of it, so by Japanese terms, it's covered skin!
