Sexy Voice the manga

So I placed a request for this manga at my local library (kind of expecting to never hear from it again)

Well, amazingly enough I received a message the other day that it was in. They got the manga!

So I checked it out and have been reading it. It's kind of interesting to see how different it is (the old woman is an old man, Niko earns money from the tele-club thing and is a bit more of a tease, Kazumi's name is Hatsumi, no crazy parents {so far} Robo is more of a plot device than an actual character, etc.)

It's still kind of a loose collection of stories about Niko observing different people and their lives. There's even one story that's like a combination of motorcycle crash from 2 and Hamburg-san from 7.

If you loved this drama (why don't you love this drama) I highly recommend it to you. If you can't afford it, try out your local library (man, times are changing)

I bought it on Amazon just after I finished watching the show, it was pretty good. I've never really read much manga so that was kinda cool too. Are you reading the translated version or are you reading it in japanese?

I read the translated version. Didn't another manga come out when the drama aired last year though? I know the translated version kind of ends abruptly

I don't know about another manga, but I've never really looked. I might have a look around amazon and see what I can see.

I bought the manga during the summer and enjoyed it immensely. I really liked the fact that the art isnt your typical manga art as it has a much more European style, like Herge. If I were to compare it to another mangaka's work I'd even say it reminds me of Katsuhiro Otomo.

Yeah, I really liked how the characters looked in particular. There was just something sassy about the way Nico always looked. And Robo was just as goofy as one would expect.

One of the odd things when reading the comic was noting all the things that would happen in it that would never have happened in the drama "I'm the old man's lover! He likes them young!" Shock!

I really liked the fact that they made the old man an old woman instead. It made her relationship with Niko seem more mother-daughter, which was nice and fit the contemplative nature of the drama
